umm oopps

It has been 2 months since I have blogged, no wonder my scale has gone up. I love to weigh myself, but when i know the scale is up I tend to stay off of it, um dumb idea. well most of you know I moved to this little tiney town last year, almost been a whole year now and that there is a huge lack of a good gym or motivation to be fit and it is hot as hell! i am talking it is still 99* at 10pm! so with all that the weight has crept or jumped back on, sadly to say I am back at the weight that Todd came home to see me at in Feb 2009!!! Now this was 8 months postpartum with twins, and now I am almost 3 years postpartum soooo ekkkk...

So Molly and Dee are rocking some crazy vegan lifestyle and keep telling me the weight will just melt off my ass (which is huge by the way) so today is day 2 of a new veganish lifestyle for me. i really only ate chicken,fish, and turkey so it isn't a huge deal to meal, but i sure don't like the idea of missing cheese, milk, and eggs so I will say I am attempting to be vegan but more likely a vegetarian.

So day 1 went well but I was traveling to/from San Antonio so I cheated on caloric intake and HAD to have a starbucks (we don't have a coffee shop either).

Today so far so good, its 3pm and here's what I have ate:
b-green shakeology with 10cal juice, banana, frozen peach slices
s-coffee (did cheat w/the creamer but i have cocconut milk lined up after creamer is gone), 1 liter water finished
l-2 portobello mushroom caps, 2 slices of bread, 1 avocado, spinach leaves, and some spouts, and a mango
dinner plans are 2 artichokes and sliced pineapple!

now to refill the water bottle up with crystal light!!!!

the week of the half marathon

This is going to make half #5, you'd think by now I would know how to train or the importance of training um not so much! but I am still headed to Dallas to run/walk it because my eye is on the prize of the SIX half heavy medal it looks like superman lol.

well on WW front gained a lb last week, lost 0.2 this week. as long as i get there i will be happy!

March 1st!

Which I just have to say means we are almost HALFWAY done with yet another deployment! That makes me pretty excited and means I am 3 months away from being back in San Diego and enjoying the beautiful running weather and my fabulous friends who have all signed up to run the Rock N Roll half :) We are going to have such a blast!

So it's March 1st, a new fresh start to a new month! This month my major ONE goal I have set out for myself is to only drink ONE day this month, which will be March 25th. I am headed to Dallas, to run in the rock n roll half there. My goal since I am rebuilding my endurance is to finish in 2:50.

Today is Tuesday, which means yesterday was weigh in day for me. I totally bombed last week, I celebrated my brother's 21st bday then continued on to no work outs and no tracking of my food intake which lead to a gain. I gained 0.6lbs. BOOO!!!! oh well on to this week. I left the meeting and went to a friend's house who does WW as well. We took her dog on a 90 min walk, i think it was 4.5 or 5 miles or something like that, note to self wear garmin next time! then we popped a Kashi pizza in the oven YUM YUM YUM we even added more veggies and ummm some cheese to it.

this weeks goals: journal everything that goes in my mouth, workout for 1 hr, 5 days, no alcohol. I think I have a good start, after last night's walk, i did a run this morning and about to do a dvd with Jillian Michaels who is promising me rockin abs for my cruise next month LOL

Well another week down, another weigh in over. This time its a happy one! Down 1.6 making 199.8. boo for gaining weight back when i was in the 170s but such is life. i feel my whole life i have been on a diet. blah. but if i do this right and make it a life style change then i shouldnt feel like its a diet right? anyhow i tracked on the online journal with WW last week, and even ate out 3 times this week! woot woot! i feel like this will be another good week.

What is really hard is when i work 14 hours and have to go back again for another day. i have to decide between sleep and a workout. it really sucks!!!

so this week i bought tons of tv dinners including bfast ones! i know they have alot of sodium but i am downing the water and getting back to normal portion sizes.

well heres to another week, of which im working 4 maybe 5 days of it so sleep eat work YAY me

another ww weigh in

and another gain...its starting to get old seeing the $39.95 come out of my acct and yet tacking on weight instead of losing. so i had decided hmm if i can't lose 4 itty bitty pounds this month i was going to look into ediets biggest loser program or nutrisystem some form of planned out meals. so i had said i was going to get prepackaged meals and add in fruit and yogurt milk etc in between to ensure i am getting enough PP+ for the day. i went to my wamart, which by the way, i LOVE! they had the bagged steamer healthy choice meals for $1.50 and other ones for $1-1.25. i filled up my cart with all the different flavors, im actually pretty excited to have a variety of different flavors and meals to eat again. so lets see how this week goes! i will be heading to San Antonio tuesday and coming back wednesday. but i feel i will makes some good choices!

so went to WW yesterday was up a lb. well holy hell as i look at my chart and im down all of (DRUM ROLL) 2.8 lbs since um oct! WTH. so anyhow thats that. i ran yesterday morning for my official first day of my own half marathon training. as soon as i finished running i realized i was supposed to run on tue not mon, sometimes working nights i forget what day of the week it is.

i am also a daily weigher, alot of people know this about me, well its hard to be a daily weigher when you sleep at all weird hours but sadly today im saying i hate my scale at home and im frustrated and thinking is this weight ever going to come off!!! it has before so one foot in front of the other one day of tracking and working out after the other and shooting for a ONE lb loss this week!

don't faint!

i have cleaned the house AND just went on a 3 mile run. I decided to start introducing the run/walk method so at x amt of mins i walk for 1-2 mins then start back again, i started reading Hal Gathoway (i believe is his name) and he fully believes in it. now im super sweaty and about to finish my 2nd liter of water (really crystal light) today! so mileage for 2011 11/500. who's with me LOL

wow where has January went?

I think that as we age each year flies by, just yesterday I was asked my age, sometimes I forget how old I am now. How weird, but I quickly do that math, ok born in 1976 its 2011 my bday is in Dec oh ya I am 34. Damn I have decided that makes me mid 30s. Am I bothered by this, no not really. I remember turning 30 and sitting down listing all the things I have accomplished in life. Sometimes I think we forget what we have done, a quick recap: I served my country for 11 years, had my own 3 children, adopted a child that was born to a drinking, drug using mother, and made 2 families as a surrogate, oh and I have completed 3 triathlons and 4 half marathons. Not freaking bad oh and i have finally reached my long life goal of becoming a nurse. ok i don't know why I thought I should recap my life, I blame in on finishing a book I highly recommend to any one battling their bulge.

The amazing adventures of dietgirl by Shauna Reid. So as I get all my fitness magazines in the mail and like to skip right to the success stories hoping someday i can say I am a success and see that these people took 2-3 years to get to goal weight. Really? who the hell wants to take that long to get to goal weight, but damn I haven't seen my goal weight since I lost weight in 1995 to join the Navy, seems like a number I may a number I may never get to so I guess i just need to stop and re-evaluate my life, how my clothes fit, how fit or unfit i am, is my skin clear due to not eating fried foods, is my pee clear, etc

i have also been battling the am I depressed on not with myself. For those that personally know me I am a pretty bubbly person. but having taking this 2 yr contract to this amazingly detached town I find days were I would rather be void of all human contact. So I though maybe exercise and its endorphins will help me, yet I haven't really trekked to the gym. I worked out monday after getting into the bod pod and it shooting out a sad number, my body fat (which im embarrassed to share) is 39.9% but maybe by sharing it I can happily post in 6 months that now its down to whatever. I haven't even decided what number to say I want to be, i have set so many weight loss goal but never achieved one yet so it seems pointless. so as january comes to an end and my NY resolutions have half assed through the month i finally opened a calendar i bought. I bought it specifically to track my ny resolutions aka goals is a better word to use. the calendar has 3 different shaded boxes per day, perfect since i set out with 3 major 2011 goals.

-8/500 miles ok that was a crappy start to a goal LOL opps
-well i paid off 3 credit cards this month amounting to $4300 I believe but used a card to charge I think about $300 but will pay it off with my first check in feb so i dont know it kinda did ruin the ny resolution but im paying on it before interest hits so....
-shit rosetta stone, i was working 16 hour days for a 2 weeks sleeping was more important when I can OJT spanish lessons

since I am having issues with long term goals long term being even a month I have put the goal calendar up (only took 3 weeks to open it) so now its on my cork board in the hall to my bedroom/bathroom/laundry room. i can obtain 4 stickers a day, 1 for being 100% OP (on plan, this means as long as i track food intake, be it horrendous or fab), 1 for a workout, 1 for not incurring debt, 1 for studying rosetta stone. So this being said, I am rewarding myself with a much needed body massage after 1 week of star collecting, and lets see i can earn 28 stars in a week, as long as i get 20 stars I can get my massage this week. Yes I have taken this adventure to the level of Kindergarden but hey who doesn't like seeing stars?????

Taking control back!

So yes I am in Eagle Pass, why does this bother me. I contemplated this today...maybe I just don't understand why when people leave this small town they come back. I know I am not super family orientated and I have my fair share of childhood memories I love to repress, so I chalked it up to that small town to me means home. And when I turned 18 I joined the Navy and have not been back home for longer than 2 weeks since then. So anyhow, I need to quit whining and complaining oh me oh my and make the best of what I do have. I can be in control over what I eat ( i mean i do all the shopping and most of the cooking) I can be in control over mileage ran ( i have a treadmill, shoes, and a garmin). So as of today I am going to stop blaming my weight gain on Texas and take back control of my life, which in turn also being firm about the number of hours I work.Last week I worked 6 nights straight, probably about 85 hours, this week I am on for four days; 2 on 2 off 2 on, i feel so much more human and happy!!! So today i will sit down and make a reward list based on more than just my scale!!! Oh and btw I weighed in at weight watchers monday night, down 1.2. and sadly to say 200 lbs! my weekly weight loss goal is 0.5-1 lb. not alot but im okay with that!

Well here we go again, a new year that comes with new years resolutions. now that i worked a 12 hr shift and came home to my youngest two not allowing me to sleep I am trying to remember if i stated my NY resolutions for 2011. I am not making any that have to do with my scale AT ALL! I have 3 that I want to be serious about to help make my life better. Since its already 4pm on the first day I guess I better get on with them!

2011 Resolutions!!!

1. Not to incur anymore debt (and obviously to pay off debt, this years goal is to pay off $40k)
2. to log 30 mins a day on Rosetta Stone Spanish version
3. to run 500 miles this year, I have already signed up for 3 Rock n Roll half marathons

to ensure I am getting in my resolution goals I plan on using a calendar, putting 3 small boxes labeled on their and checking them off daily, because we all know how easy it is to get off track!

of course since this is a blog about me losing weight, I would love to lose 1 lb a week but since I am a habitually yo yo person with my weight I wanted to really really focus on just being happy and healthy as I bring in 2012! oh my friend from WW said her and her friends set up monthly resolutions so I think I am going to set some each month too and i have ONE for January.

my January one is to NOT buy toys for my kids, they have a giftcard for build a bear we will probably use in Jan but that's it!!! I am so tired of toys being all over my house and not properly cared for!
